Junior Learning Team

Room 10 - Ann Stevenson - Team Leader (Assistant Principal)Ann Stevenson St Clair School

Ann is our assistant principal and leads our junior learning team. She has taught in a number of schools in both New Zealand and the UK. Ann is a successful and creative teacher with particular strengths in literacy and inquiry-based apporaches to learning. In addition, Ann has an interest in the performing arts, taking a leading role in dance, and Jump Jam options.


Claudia Cook-Green  St Clair SchoolRoom 1 - Kate Clydesdale

Kate is a skilled junior teacher with a strong literacy background. She provides a warm welcome to our pupils and works effectively to get the best from our junior learners.



Michelle Reece  St Clair SchoolRoom 3 - Brigid Fyfe

Brigid uses her special skills to enhance the learning of her Year 1 and 2 students. She is an experienced teacher with very well structured literacy and numeracy programmes and rich learning experiences across the rest of the curriculum.

Michelle is one of our key reception class teachers. She provides a warm and safe welcome for our newest learners and has the specific skills needed to ensure a smooth start to formal learning for all children in her care.


Aneka ThomsonRoom 5 - Aneka Thomson

Aneka provides a warm welcome for our youngest learners. Her strong background in junior education ensures that key literacy and numeracy skills are acquired smoothly.


Kate ClydesdaleRoom 6 - Beth Fairbairn

Beth brings strengths in literacy, numeracy and science to Room 6. Her background in junior education ensures that early literacy and numeracy skills are built on positively.


Jenny Munro Room 6 - Jenny Munro (co-teacher one day/fortnight)

Jenny is a very expereinced new entrant teacher and has worked for a number of years at St Clair School, specialising in our New Entrant Hub. Jenny has a wealth of knowledge for parents new to St Clair school and her experience ensures the best possible start for our new entrant children.


Megan Pelvin Room 9 - Megan Pelvin

Megan has rejoined our team after a year's parental leave. She is a very experienced teacher with a passion for literacy and mathematics, and has spent a number of years as a reading recovery teacher.



Nick Williamson  St Clair SchoolReading Recovery - Rebecca Tamblyn

Rebecca's creative flair and love of literacy is a real asset for our school. In 2017 she is taking reading recovery and literacy acceleration groups.



Chrissy McCready  St Clair SchoolRoom 10 - Chrissy McCready - (co-teacher one day per week)

Chrissy co-teaches in Room 1. Chrissy has many years of experience in the teaching of junior children. She provides a warm, stimulating and happy environment for the children in her care.

Carmen is a valued member of our support team. Her focus on individuals' needs and her sense of fun make her a valuable member of our team.

Helen Thomson  St Clair SchoolLearning Support - Jo Preston

Jo has been a member of our support staff for a number of years. Her work is focused on learning support and social skill development.

Helen's association with the school spans almost two decades. She has an extensive background in education and in the past has also been a lead teacher in a local kindergarten. Helen brings a high level of skill to our junior learning support programmes.
